I know I have been a bit stingy with images from my AFRICA SKATES project but believe me I will let the flood gates open once I get my head around the proper platform to showcase what took me 48hrs to shoot , and almost a year and a  half  to convey it properly so the world doesn’t miss what I want to say with these photos. On my first day of shooting I met a group of inner city kids  who whizzed down the blocks with more emotion than skill, carelessly laughing through failed tricks and passionately claiming lyrics from their favorite rap songs. I photographed this kid gliding down the block and apart from the beautiful cast of dark shadows that his body almost always seemed to elude all I saw was his freedom. photo : allen coleman
